The Village Background
The Village project began in 2003 when ERDO purchased the site of the former "Working Horse Museum " in the centre of Triabunna to develop a community space based on successful community development models including the Creative Living Centre, Burnie & CERES in Melbourne.
In 2006, ERDO received grants from the Tasmanian Community Fund and the Australian Government, through Regional Partnerships, and support from Glamorgan Spring Bay Council towards the community space.
Over 150 students from Triabunna District High School have been involved in the project since its inception. In 2010 Triabunna District High school is establishing Village Enterprises as part of the curriculum options for Years 9 & 10.
